Fall Chili Recipe
Ingredients
- ground beef or turkey- 1 lb
- onion- 1 small, peeled and minced
- chili beans in sauce- 1 28oz. can, not drained
- black beans- 1 15oz. can, drained
- whole kernel corn- 1 15oz. can, drained
- petite-diced tomatoes- 1 15oz. can
- chili powder- 3 tablespoons
- multi-grain, multi-colored fish crackers* (*do not use for gluten-free version)
- garlic salt- 2 tablespoons
- paprika- 1 tablespoon
- nutmeg- 1 tspn
Instructions
- In a large deep soup pot or Dutch oven, brown meat
- Add onion and cook with beef until translucent, approximately 4 minutes
- Add to remaining cooked beef all remaining ingredients: chili beans in sauce, drained black beans, drained corn, tomatoes, chili powder, garlic salt paprika and nutmeg
- Mix well and bring to a boil
- Once boiling, reduce heat to low and let it simmer until cooked thoroughly, approximately 15 minutes
- Serve with fish crackers, unless using gluten-free version
