Easy Holiday Appetizers

There are so many easy holiday recipes that can made in just minutes without sauteing, marinating or baking.  I made some appetizers this weekend using Wholly Guacamole, a fresh avocado guacamole dip that comes already prepared, and they came out delicious.

Merry Christmas Chips & Guacamole

Adding diced red and green bell peppers to my Wholly Guacamole gave my dip a “festive” look.

The Grinch Eggs

By adding Wholly Guacamole to the center of hard-boiled eggs, I simply used red bell peppers for the eyes and a slice of cooked yolk for the “devilish” smile.

What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store.
What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.”  – Dr. Suess from The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

I’m not a “sports” person myself, but I know many people are entertaining for football season, or “homegating”- which is tailgate entertaining at home.  The folks at Wholly Guacamole have put together a host of party planning, recipes and decorating tips for anyone homegating this year at homegatinghq.com.

Some say that keeping the pit and returning to the guacamole will keep the guacamole from turning brown; I can’t say for sure that I agree, but it did make for a pretty photo.

But!  I have found that adding a half cup of sour cream seems to do the trick and keep it fresh looking.
